Building Resilience and Managing Stress in Difficult Times

Teaching is a challenging occupation and these are difficult times!  Participants will learn, and practice, research based mindfulness and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies for coping with stress, building resilience and supporting wellbeing.  Some of the practices teachers learn in the session can be adapted to support the Social Emotional Learning and development of their students.

Audience: CTI Induction Coaches and Candidates.

Mindful Self-Compassion for Educators

Teachers are nurturers and caregivers but often forget to care for themselves.  Sometimes we can be more critical of ourselves and our own mistakes or “failures” than we would be of a friend or even a stranger.  Participants will learn an evidence based approach to address this inner critic and cultivate healthy self-compassion in order to cope with difficulty, increase wellbeing, reduce “caregiver burnout” and cultivate a kinder and more sustainable approach to meeting work and life challenges.  Some of the practices teachers learn in the session can be adapted to support the Social Emotional Learning and development of their students.

Audience: CTI Induction Coaches and Candidates.

Mindfulness and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for Educators (4 Day Event)

Research demonstrates that mindfulness and SEL practices are effective at addressing a number of issues, including chronic stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout.  Participants will learn mindfulness and SEL principles and practices that can be applied in their daily life to enhance work performance, emotional wellbeing and life satisfaction. Many of the practices teachers learn in the course can be adapted to support the Social Emotional Learning and development of their students.
