Dr. Iris Riggs
Dr. Riggs is interested in the measurement of teacher self-efficacy beliefs for teaching science and mathematics. Additionally, as a CSUSB faculty member, she currently teaches induction coaches within a program for new teachers through the Riverside County Office of Education. Recently, in her capacity as a faculty member, she also worked in ACES, a program that promoted teachers’ ability to teach algebra through lesson study (http://aces.csusb.edu).
Rubrics for Teacher and Student Use
This module introduces rubrics as a means for assessing students. Participants will engage in study of sample rubrics, will develop a rubric, and will consider implementation of rubrics for students’ self-assessment. This session may be of special interest to those completing CalTPA’s Cycle 2-Assessment-driven Instruction.
Audience: CTI Induction candidates needing to complete TPA Cycle 2. Coaches are welcome. This session is geared toward the elementary classroom setting.
Strategies for Engaging and Formatively Assessing Online Learners in Synchronous Teaching
This module introduces those new to online teaching to approaches that keep students engaged in synchronous sessions through use of google slides and small group meeting rooms.
Audience: CTI Induction Coaches and Candidates. This session is geared toward the elementary classroom setting.
